How long does glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint last?

It depends on the colour. Our green and cyan phosphorescent paints glow for up to 18 hours after a full charge. Medium luminous colours like white and orange glow up to 12 hours, and warmer tones like pink, purple glow for around 8 hours. All colours recharge indefinitely and never wear out.

What makes your glow in the dark paint different?

Our paint uses strontium aluminate powder - a professional-grade material that glows much brighter and longer than the cheap zinc sulfide used in most glow products. It glows for hours after charging. We offer 18 colours - more than most brands - with consistent glow performance across every shade.

How to charge glow-in-the-dark paint?

Hold a UV flashlight 2-3cm from the surface for 10-30 seconds, or place your piece in direct sunlight for 1-2 minutes. Either gives a strong glow lasting 8+ hours. The longer you charge, the longer it glows - you can't overcharge it. For large or uneven surfaces, move the light source across the area to ensure even coverage.

How to make glow-in-the-dark paint?

Mix 1 part strontium aluminate phosphorescent pigment powder with 4 parts clear medium and stir well. That's it - your luminescent paint is ready to use. Just don't go above a 1:3 ratio or the pigment will clump. For a full guide covering mediums, surfaces and application tips, see How to Make Glow in the Dark Paint.

How does glow-in-the-dark paint work?

This paint contains phosphors (e.g., strontium aluminate) that absorb UV or visible light and slowly release it as visible light through phosphorescence. Strontium aluminate-based paints outperform zinc sulfide by glowing more intensely and for longer periods.
