FAQs
How does flow-aid work?
It breaks the surface tension of the paint so it flows smoothly,without thinning it or weakening the binder the way water does.
Do I have to dilute it?
Yes, always. Liquitex are explicit: "Do not use Flow Aidundiluted as it results in poor acrylic adhesion, cracking, tackiness and watersensitivity." Mix 1 part Flow-Aid to 20 parts water first, or 1 to 10 for a strongereffect.
How much of the diluted mix can I add?
Up to 25% of your paint or medium, stirred inslowly. More than that can cause shrinkage, cracking and the paint film breaking down.
Can I mix it with other additives?
No. Liquitex say not to combine it with otheradditives, for the same reason.
