What light do I need to see the effect?
Any UV or blacklight between 365 and 395 nm. A 365 nm light gives the cleanest colours; 395 nm also works but adds a slight violet tint. Our UV flashlights work well for this.
What can I mix fluorescent pigment powder with?
Fluorescent pigment powders can be mixed into compatible clear or light-coloured mediums, including certain acrylic mediums and epoxy resins. As a starting point, try 20-30% pigment and 70-80% medium by weight. Always test a small batch first, as the ideal ratio depends on the medium and desired finish.
Is it safe for skin, nails or cosmetics?
No. These pigments are for art, craft and decorative use only. Don’t use them on skin, nails, eyes or lips, or in cosmetics, and avoid breathing in the dust. A safety data sheet is available on request.
Where can I use UV reactive pigments?
UV reactive pigments are ideal for colourful artwork, resin projects, decorative crafts, clothing, murals and UV-themed decorations. They can also be incorporated into suitable coatings for wood, canvas and other surfaces. Always choose a compatible medium and test adhesion and durability before applying to a finished project.
Does fluorescent pigment glow in the dark?
No. It glows only while UV or blacklight shines on it and stops the moment the light is switched off. For a glow that lasts in the dark, use our glow-in-the-dark pigments, or layer both for neon by day and glow by night
